How can we grow your brand?
Why we started mata.
We fell in love with the art of it. Branding, marketing — the part where a business suddenly looks like something.
Cris is a director and producer out of Dallas, and a founding partner here. He has been making videos for as long as he has had a camera, and I have always been building something. None of it started as a business. It was just what we did.
Doing it for other people came after, and it has never been one lane. Commercials, television, brand campaigns, music videos, venues, websites — whatever the thing needed to be.
That is still how it works. Every call on a job gets made by one of us, and the taste is the part you are actually hiring.

See work we’ve doneThe usual questions.
01 Who is actually going to make it?
The two of us. Patrick Mata founded MATA Creatives and runs the studio and the direction; Cris directs the film work. Nothing gets handed to a stranger halfway through, and you always know which of us you are talking to. We are based in Charlotte, North Carolina; the work goes wherever it needs to.
02 We already have a brand. Can you work inside it?
That is most of what we do. If the identity is working we build to it and leave it alone. If it is fighting you, we will tell you before we touch anything rather than quietly redesigning it and hoping you like it.
03 Do you use AI, and is it going to look like it?
We use it in a lot of places — stills and renders, boards and concepting, video, and plenty of the unglamorous parts of running a job. How much of it ends up in your project depends entirely on what the project is. What never changes is that a person picks every frame that leaves here, which is the reason it does not look like AI made it.
04 Can we start with one thing?
Almost everybody does. One film, one site, one month of short-form. If it works it grows from there, and if it does not you have not signed away a year to find that out.
05 What do we own when it is finished?
All of it. The final files, the source underneath them, the domain and the hosting in your name. You should never have to ask us for permission to use your own work.
Let’s make something.
